Stress & Its Effect in Life.

"I am so stressed out!"

We've all said that many times. For some, that could be every day of our lives!
What do we usually stress out about?
- School
- Family/Friends
- Money
- Work
- Love life
- Adulthood
- Life in general

Why do we tend to stress out so much?
Usually, stress comes from the worries of unresolved past or current situations that could greatly affect the outcome of our futures.
Personally, I am one who greatly stresses out. I tended to question why life had to be so unfair and turn up the way it has. Then it dawned on me. Maybe, just maybe, there are may be pros (reasons) to why stress can be a good thing.

Let's see:
When stressed, we tend to be more alert about everything that goes on in life. It could possibly create an awareness for the next thing that could ideally bring stress into our lives. We try to think ahead of time and plan out what could be next to come and be ready for it. We have the drive, let alone the worry, to do the best we can in difficult situations.

Of course, with every pro there is a con:
Stressing out too much can lead to ultimate negative life changing decisions like suicide, depression, etc. It creates panic attacks within ourselves. It creates worry to those who are around us because they care. It also creates doubts on the decisions that we make. We become so uncomfortable with life in general, we just have difficulties to deal with everything.

Though the pros aren't evenly matched well with the list of cons, it is still our choice on what and how we want to deal with our stress.

Here are a few suggestions that I find could be helpful in dealing with stress:
- As hard as it may be, try to look at it in a more positive route. If we can take the stress and turn it into a motivator, we can definitely overcome what life throws at us.
- Accept what has already been done and learn from it. Yes, it is another hard thing to do. Accepting our past mistakes and learning from it without any held regrets will definitely help in the stress department of our brains. It will ease our tensions and help us to make a much more rational choice on what to do next.
- When stressed, try to take things lightly/one step at a time. When we overpack ourselves with unnecessary ideas instead of just focusing on what should be done, our stress level starts to creep up. Don't beat yourself up by adding more stress to your health. It definitely does not help when you begin to worry about other things without resolving one problem first.
- Just BREATHE! We don't need any panic attacks because of stressing out so much. Try to let your mind and body relax before figuring out what could be done to lower your stress levels.
- Don't be afraid to talk to a friend or close relative, someone you can basically trust. It may seem and feel like you are burdening them with all your problems, but in reality, they could be willing to help you, learn, and grow with you from the experience. They're there to be a listening ear when needed and hopefully be able to suggest a few more ideas or advices that could help.

Stress is always made out to be the bad guy in life. And most of the time, it truly is; however, that's only if we allow it to be.
